Japan's Crown Prince Naruhito pays call on students of PermataPintar

BANGI: Japan's Crown Prince Naruhito spent nearly an hour at the PermataPintar National Gifted Centre at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, here today.

He was greeted by the Prime Minister's wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, who is also the PermataPintar patron.

During his visit, the Crown Prince was briefed on the centre's development and successes, and was also treated to a short performance by four PermataPintar students who serenaded him with the Japanese folk song, 'Sakura'.

Prince Naruhito also took time to admire school experiments by students here.

At a press conference later, Rosmah said the Crown Prince said he was impressed with the approach and programme at the centre.

"He was briefed on the many activities held here, and also on the science and mathematics education at this school.

"He said he was very impressed with what is being done in the school and the programmes taught to the children," she added.
