KUALA KANGSAR: One’s love for one’s country should be manifested in both formal and informal ways, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said today.
"Be it formally or informally, (demonstrating patriotism) for Malaysia is paramount in order to maintain our spirit of togetherness, even in times of national tragedy.
"We should (come together during trying) events that happen in our country, such as with the Lahad Datu invasion and the North Korea diplomatic crisis.
"We have to put aside all our different political affiliations, religions and stay together. This should be encouraged, and transformed into positive contributions to our nation," he said.
Zahid was speaking during the launch of the Ekspresi Negaraku Programme at Dataran Pavilion here, this morning.
He added that the Ekspresi Negaraku Programme is a good platform through which Malaysians can express their love for the nation.
