What strain? Azmin says Pas and PKR are 'solid'

MALACCA: The strained relationship between Pas and PKR is merely the view of certain quarters at the ground level, PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Azmin Ali said here today.

The Selangor Menteri Besar intimated that the relationship between the two parties was bonded by a common purpose, which is bringing change in the next general elections and that the leadership of both parties were on the same page in that regards.

When asked on the status of their relationship with Pas after the Malacca PKR convention, Azmin merely gestured a thumbs up, while stating “mantap” (solid).

“The leadership of both parties have to decide on the future of the nation, so that all political parties that are progressive and want a change that is total, should cooperate with each other,” said Azmin.

“I am confident the Pas leadership also want changes to be made in Putrajaya.”

Officiating the convention was PKR president Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, along with Azmin, Malacca PKR chairman Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin, PKR secretary general Datuk Saifuddin Nasution Ismail and Malacca PKR deputy chairman Gue Teck.

On the escalating spat between PKR vice president Rafizi Ramli and Global Movement of Moderates (GMM) chief executive officer Datuk Dr Nasharuddin Mat Isa, where the latter had rubbished Rafizi’s claims of 1MDB-linked funds channelled to him, calling it baseless.

Azmin merely called for the pair to stop competing in such manner.

“They should just stop competing with each other in such a way. Just focus on delivery. Let us work together in the interest of the rakyat. That should be the focus of all leaders,” he said.
