MACC may charge PKR's Adam Rosly tomorrow

KUALA LUMPUR: Ampang PKR Youth chief Datuk Adam Rosly, who is currently under remand and investigated by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) over his 'unusual' wealth, is expected to be charged tomorrow.

A source said MACC has also sealed his ‘castle-like’ house in Ampang, said to have been bought at RM1.2 million.

The 28-year-old man is expected to be charged under Section 32(8)(c) and Section 89 of the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001 for providing false documents and statement.

He was detained by MACC when recording his statement at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya last Thursday.

MACC deputy commissioner (operation) Datuk Azam Baki when contacted confirmed the matter but declined to elaborate.

Adam found himself in the centre of a controversy over the legitimacy of his wealth, following revelations that he owned a "castle-like" house, estimated to be worth RM1 million, and luxury cars despite his age.

The rising star in PKR had previously said he could afford the luxurious lifestyle because of his family's inheritance and successful business ventures.
