KUALA LUMPUR: Puteri Umno is recruiting more new members and they will help the party win in the coming general election, said its chief Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin.
She said recently, some 800 newcomers have joined the wing, all thanks to the help and support of Malacca Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron.
“We are receiving more new members in the wing and recently, some 800 members are being fielded in Puteri Umno in Malacca.
“We want to thank the Malacca chief minister for putting the effort to bring in more young people to join us as well as help strengthen Umno and its grassroots.
“With that, we can easily accomplish a big win in the coming general election,” she said at the press conference of “Kemurungan: Jom Bincangkan” (Depression: Let's Talk About it) awareness campaign here today.
She also said that Puteri Umno is all geared up and prepared for the poll.
Mas Ermieyati said the wing has started to go to the ground and meet the people.
“We will explain to the people as well as the grassroots about Umno’s mission so that they will not be brainwashed by misleading information from other party.
“We are working together as one family and the collaboration with one another is very important in order to strengthen the party.” she added.
