PM Najib: "Discussion got a little too intense yesterday!"

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak recalled last night’s National Transformation 2050 (TN50) dialogue which he said got somewhat intense for a while.

“Discussion got a little too intense yesterday! A lively discussion but it's all good now,” he said in a Twitter posting today.

Najib assured that all will be heard in the TN50 dialogue sessions being carried out.

Last night, film producer Datuk David Teo was slapped by comedian Sulaiman Yassin or popularly known as Mat Over during a TN50 dialogue session involving participants from the entertainment industry.

The incident took place in front of Najib at the dialogue session, at Seri Perdana.

It was sparked when Teo appeared to question the manner Datuk Rosyam Nor, the moderator of the dialogue session was handling proceedings, which he claimed was not giving an equal chance for everyone to voice their views.

The programme, aired live on Facebook, saw Rosyam chide Teo, who was deemed as being disrespectful towards the prime minister.

Rosyam then gave way to Teo to air his thoughts, and the film director began to recite a poem.

However, before Teo could finish, Sulaiman appeared on the scene and slapped Teo.

The spontaneous incident was immediately brought under control by the security team, and both men were escorted out of the venue.

The video of the incident has subsequently gone viral.

Both Teo and Sulaiman have made peace over the incident at the end of the event after they shook hands and hugged, witnessed by prime minister and Rosyam.
