IPOH: A teenager believed to be a 'mat rempit' was killed when his motorcycle collided with a car during an illegal race held at Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah here yesterday.
In the 4am crash, Muhammad Zulhilmi, 19, from Sungai Siput near here, died on the spot when he collided with a car driven by 21-year-old Thean Weng Sin.
Following the collision, Thean was set upon by a group of other mat rempit and was assaulted.
Perak Traffic Police Enforcement and Investigation Department deputy chief DSP Mohd Mahiri Hussin said Zulhilmi’s body was sent to the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital where Thean also sought treatment for head and body injuries. – BERNAMA
