TEMERLOH: Anih Bhd distributed 1,000 free breaking-fast packs to motorists at the rest and relaxation area (R&R) here today.
Previously, 1,000 breaking-fast packs were distributed to highway users at the Genting Sempah R&R on June 2.
The company's corporate social responsibility (CSR) unit chief Hafizah Mohd Sabri said that the Ramadan CSR programme is an annual activity.
However, she said that distribution of the packs to users at R&R areas is the first time this is done.
"Previously, we distributed kuih raya to users at toll plazas a few days before Aidilfitri," she said.
She said that this year, the company distributed the packs to users at two main locations which are Genting Sempah and Temerloh R&R.
She said the objective of the CSR programme is to give back to its highway users as a gesture of appreciation, especially during Ramadan.
"This programme has three sessions. The first session was at Genting Sempah R&R, the second session at Temerloh R&R today and the third session will later be at the Genting Sempah R&R again.
"Therefore, any highway users on their way back home but have no time to break fast at eateries can use the break-fast packs distributed by us," she said.
Hafizah added that Anih had distributed 20,000 packs of dates to highway users at Gombak and Karak toll plazas throughout this Ramadan.
