JOHOR BARU: Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein was the guest of honour at a Khatam Al Quran and 'buka puasa' event organised by the Johor Umno liaison committee tonight.
Held at at the Johor Menteri Besar's official residence, Saujana, the annual event saw the attendance of state Umno head and Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin.
About 1,500 party members and leaders from all 26 Umno divisions in the state were present.
The event began with a mass recital of the Al Quran at 6pm by the guests including all of the Johor Umno members and leaders.
Guests later broke fast and performed Maghrib prayers.
