MACC: Change in FGV leadership will not affect probe

KUANTAN: The change of leadership at Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGV) will not affect Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on-going investigation into the company.

Its chief commissioner Datuk Dzulkifli Ahmad said investigation into FGV by is not tied to any government arrangements or FGV.

He was referring to the restructuring process in FGV which was announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak yesterday.

“Our investigations have no connection with the government’s plans or any other arrangements. We will not be influenced by any parties,” he said.

Najib announced Tan Sri Isa Samad’s appointment as acting chairman for the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD). Isa had also resigned as FGV’s chairman yesterday.

He added that the commission has recorded statements from 60 individuals in its investigation into FGV, thus far.

Dzulkifli added that the statements from these individuals are vital to enable the commission to wrap up their probe into the matter.

“We will be calling several others to shed light into investigations as the commission is looking to complete the probe as soon as possible.

“However, we are in no rush and will conduct investigations thoroughly based on all the evidence that we have gathered,” he said.

He was speaking to reporters after witnessing Pahang state government officials, led by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob, sign a Corruption-Free Pledge (CFP) at Wisma Sri Pahang here this afternoon.
