NILAI: A total of 306 illegal foreign workers were rounded up by the Putrajaya Immigration Department at a construction site here earlier today.
In the operation, 121 immigration officers and 30 police personnel screened 450 foreign workers at the site and detained the 306 workers, six of whom were women from various nationalities such as Bangladesh, India, Myanmar and Pakistan.
Those detained were investigated under Section 6 (1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 and Rule 39b of the Immigration Rule 1963.
