Headless, armless body of baby girl found in front of Bakar Arang factory

SUNGAI PETANI: Police have launched an investigation after the gruesome discovery of a headless and armless body of a baby girl in front of a factory in Bakar Arang here early this morning.

Kuala Muda police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zukir Md Isa said the case was being investigated under Section 318 of the Penal Code for concealment of birth by disposal of a dead body.

He said police received a report at 4.45am from a passer-by who stumbled upon the remains outside a factory gate.

“The man was curious when he saw stray dogs were surrounding an object and upon closer look, saw the headless body of a baby.

“At this point, we suspect that the head and both her arms have been eaten by the strays,” he said.

Zukir said a post-mortem on the baby revealed that she was about 35-weeks-old and had died between one or two days ago.

The cause of death however has yet to be ascertained.
