Fuel prices to go up at midnight

KUALA LUMPUR: Retail prices for petrol and diesel will see an increase in retail prices from midnight tonight.

RON95 petrol will go up by four sen per litre to RM1.97, from its previous price of RM1.93. RON97 will retail at RM2.22 per litre, up from RM2.19 previously.

Diesel will see a five sen increase to RM1.96, from last week’s RM1.91 per litre.

The new prices were announced by the Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry this evening.

The prices come into effect at midnight tonight, and will be in effect from July 13 until July 19.

The weekly fuel pricing mechanism was implemented in April this year.

A managed monthly float system for fuel prices had been in effect since Dec 1, 2014, following the removal of fuel subsidies.
