KUALA LUMPUR: For sending a pornographic picture to a 14-year-old girl through the WeChat application, a salesman was fined RM2,500 in default of four-months’ jail by the magistrate's court here yesterday.
Magistrate Mahyudin Mohmad Som handed down the sentence to Mohamad Rizki Hamidasli, 35, after he pleaded guilty to the act at Taman Connaught, Cheras here at 12.15am on July 8.
The accused, who is married and has a child, was charged under Section 509 of the Penal Code, which provides for a maximum jail sentence of five years, or a fine, or both.
According to the facts of the case, on July 10, the victim’s mobile phone was examined by her 33-year-old sister, who found a message from the accused requesting a nude picture of the victim and also inviting the victim to have sex at a hotel.
Deputy public prosecutor Nur Farah Adilah Noordin prosecuted, while the accused was unrepresented. – BERNAMA
