Johor Council of Royal Court condemns false statement framing TMJ

JOHOR BARU: The Johor Council of Royal Court lodged a police report against a false statement uploaded online that linked the Tunku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim with Umno and the general election.

The council’s president Datuk Abdul Rahim Ramli said that it was representing the royal family to condemn the irresponsible individuals for linking the crown prince with the statement that was political in nature.

Rahim stressed that the Johor royal family has no political association and is above politics. He urged the public to stop linking the royal family with any political agenda.

“We have also lodged a police report and the Johor royal family have also requested cooperation from the Inspector-General of Police and the Special Branch to find and identify the source and culprits responsible for framing the Johor royal family and linking them to any political party.

“We also urge PDRM to take serious actions against those responsible,” said Rahim in the statement on Monday.

The statement in question has been circulated for a long time using a photo of Tunku Ismail with words written in Malay, trashing Umno, among other things.

The police report was believed to have been lodged yesterday.
