Peeping Tom at Ampang Hospital women's restroom gets 3 months' jail

KUALA LUMPUR: A Myanmar man who was caught spying on a woman in an Ampang Hospital restroom two weeks ago has been sentenced to three months’ jail by the magistrate’s court here.

Magistrate Mohamad Firdaus Sadina Ali passed the sentenced on 36-year-old Raju after he pleaded guilty to the charge of outraging the modesty of the woman at the hospital’s toilet at 11.45pm on July 9.

The charge under Section 509 of the Penal Code carries a maximum jail term of five years or a fine, or both, upon conviction.

The court ordered the man to serve the sentence from the date of his arrest on July 10.

Raju was caught red-handed when he coughed while spying on the woman, who reacted by spraying him with water and calling for help. -- BERNAMA
