First group of Malaysian haj pilgrims arrive in Medina

MEDINA: The first group of 483 Malaysian pilgrims for this year’s haj arrived at Prince Mohamad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport at 9.36am, local time.

The pilgrims departed from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) in Sepang at 5.30pm Malaysian time.

They were welcomed on arrival at Hotel Anwar Al Madinah Movenpick at 1pm local time by Malaysian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Datuk Zainol Rahim Zainuddin, deputy head of the 1438H Malaysian haj delegation Nurrinanuwar Shamsuddin, and Haj Consul Mohammad Saimi Mat Som.

This year, a total of 30,200 Malaysian pilgrims will perform the haj. They will be arriving in stages from today.

Meanwhile, Zainol Rahim welcomed the arrival of Malaysian pilgrims to the Holy Land and hoped they will be able to perform their haj well and obtain Allah’s blessings.
