Hotel purchase probe: MACC team leaves FIC office after 10 hours

KUALA LUMPUR: After 10 hours, the investigating team from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has finally left the Felda Investment Corporation Sdn Bhd (FIC) office here.

The 12 officers were seen leaving Balai Felda at 8.10pm, carrying with them four boxes of documents.

The documents are believed to be tied to the anti-graft agency’s ongoing investigation into FIC's controversial four-star hotel purchase in Kuching, Sarawak.

The officers had arrived at 10am today, before being escorted by Felda auxiliary police to the FIC office at Level 4.

Initial investigations had suggested that FIC incurred losses worth millions due to the purchase of the Kuching hotel.

Today, MACC officers had also visited two other offices in Kuala Lumpur and three in Kuching.

MACC is expected to summon several ‘important witnesses’ to have their statements recorded soon,
