Finance Ministry signs corruption-free pledge

PUTRAJAYA: The Finance Ministry today became the latest government agency to take the initiative to sign the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's Corruption-Free Pledge (IBR).

Led by its deputy secretary-general Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Isa Hussain, 17 top managers including Treasury secretary-general Tan Sri Dr Mohd Irwan Serigar Abdullah took their oath verbally before MACC deputy chief commissioner Datuk Shamshun Baharin Mohd Jamil.

After the pledge, all of them place their signatures on the IBR document with Shamshun signing off as the witness.

It was reported that a total of 444 entities had signed the MACC's IBR as of July 24.

Later, Irwan told reporters of his hoped that officers in the ministry to say no to corruption and uphold their integrity while executing their duties.

"I want those in the ministry to report graft cases to the authorities." he added.
