Kit Siang told to read Standing Order properly before asking question in Parliament

KUALA LUMPUR: DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang was reprimanded for asking an unrelated question in Parliament this morning.

Dewan Rakyat Deputy Speaker Datuk Seri Ismail Mohamed Said told the Gelang Patah member of Parliament to thoroughly read the Parliament's Standing Order before asking a question.

"Please read the Standing Order repeatedly. Read that first then you can ask a question," said Ismail.

This was after Lim had asked Education Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid the total number of books read by cabinet ministers monthly.

To this, Mahdzir replied: "It is up to the individual to read. It's their own right."

Mahdzir had earlier responded to Budiman Mohd Zohdi (BN-Sungai Besar), who had asked plans for improvement on the National Book Policy.
