KUALA LUMPUR: A 16-wheel trailer lorry which skidded and jackknifed along Lebuhraya Jalan Iskandar here this afternoon brought all traffic heading towards Petaling Jaya and the Seremban-Melaka expressway to a standstill.
The trailer of the lorry came to a stop horizontally across all three lanes of the highway in the 2pm incident, blocking traffic completely.
City traffic chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Nadzri Hussain said no casualty was reported in the mishap, but traffic was blocked for almost half an hour before local authorities were able to remove the trailer and clear the road.
He said the gridlock was quickly cleared before evening rush hour traffic commenced.
"Within an hour, at around 3pm, traffic returned to normal once the obstructing trailer was removed.
"Initial checks indicate that the trailer lorry driver may have lost control of the long vehicle as it approached the curvy part of the highway," Mohd Nazri said, adding that investigations are under way to determine the cause of the incident.
