SANDAKAN: Two houses were destroyed in separate fire incidents in the past two days.
The first case was on Tuesday involving a two-storey house in Taman JKR in Beluran, while the second saw a wooden house at Jalan Astana gutted early this morning.
In the first incident, two fire engines with eight firefighters from Kinabatangan Fire and Rescue station arrived on scene at 5.23pm; forty minutes after the distress call came in due to the 60 km distance.
The second incident case saw one fire engine and one water tanker with nine firemen from the district fire station here responding to the distress call at 4.42am. The fire was brought under control at 4.53am.
No casualties were reported in both cases, and cause of fire on both cases is still being investigated by the Department.
