M'sians take to social media to express love for grand 29th Sea Games opening ceremony

KUALA LUMPUR: The 29th Sea Games opening ceremony has received overwhelming response from Malaysians who have been patiently waiting to catch their favourite athletes at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil tonight.

Faez Najmuddin‏ posted on Twitter stating “nothing but love and support” as the Malaysian contingent marched into the stadium, receiving booming cheers and thunderous applause from the spectators.

Facebook user Azizah Rahmad said she was proud of the dazzling opening ceremony at National Stadium.

“Proud of all of you, let us unite and support our athletes. I love my Malaysia,” she said.

Another Twitter user by the handle @NoorFarhanCNA, shared a short clip of the fireworks and LED display from his seat.

“Kicking of the #KL2017 opening ceremony here at Bukit Jalil National Stadium,” he posted.

Another user, @withyxsmin, was amazed with the spectacular show at National Stadium, to which he described as beautiful.

Twitter user @andytelasai dubbed the opening as “Legit world class opening act.”

Meanwhile, Nurul Nasrin Abdullah, 30, who is lives only 20 minutes away from the Malaysian International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Persiaran Dutamas, said she could not wait to spend her days watching Sea Games.

“MITEC is where gymnastics and gymrama, fencing, table tennis, volleyball, weightlifting, indoor hockey, muay thai and boxing will be held. It looks like I will be spending my days at the venue,” she said.
