Biker Teachers on the road to inculcate Merdeka Spirit

KLANG: To honour Malaysia’s 60th independence anniversary, 20 riders from the Selangor Teacher Bike Club linked up with the Kembara Kibar Jalur Gemilang 2017 to distribute the Jalur Gemilang and Selangor flags in the state.

Organised by the Selangor Education Department the convoy seeks to enliven the spirit of Merdeka in the state ,especially among boarding school students.

The convoy will comprise teachers, department officers and also officers from district education office.

The convoy’s chief coordinator, Rosli Kabil said the event will provide opportunity

to boarding school pupils to celebrate independence day with their friends and teachers.

"Our objective is to make sure that the students from every district in Selangor, will get an opportunity to celebrate Merdeka day with their friends and teachers,” he said adding the programme will last until Aug 24.

“For today's ride, we will go to the hostel schools in Klang which is Klang High School and then we will proceed to Sekolah Menengah Agama Kuala Selangor and lastly Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Dato Mustaffa in Sabak Bernam," he said.

Klang High School principal, Raja Rosnita Raja Hanafi said that she was very happy to see that her school was selected to be the venue of the launching ceremony and provided an opportunity for her students to feel the Merdeka spirit.

"I can see the happy faces on the Form 1 and 2 students because they spent their time together in hanging the Jalur Gemilang at their school and also an opportunity to see high powered motorcycles.”
