IPOH: The famous Nasi Vanggey operator here has threatened to sue the culprit who has been sharing old photos of the eatery when it was investigated by the health department back in 2013.
Owner of Perniagaan Nasi Kandar Ayam Merah Mohamed Nihmathullah Syed Mustaffa said he had lodged a police report last night over the viralled pictures which have resurfaced.
In the original post, it was claimed that the outlet was shut down by authorities following the discovery of human faeces in its refrigerator, believed to be used for black magic to attract customers.
He said the pictures were taken down after he had clarified the matter which spread like wildfire on social media.
“We don’t know who spread the malicious post with old pictures that were taken in 2013. The perpetrator who had uploaded the original pictures had already issued a public apology.
“This time around, we will not hesitate to take legal action against those who spread the pictures.
“The irresponsible act had not only tarnished the image of the outlet, but has damaging effects on the state as the dish is also an attraction among tourists and locals in Perak,” he said, adding that he would not forgive the culprit(s).
He said the police report was also lodged to protect the dish, which is a family recipe that has been handed down from one generation to the next.
He clarified the pictures in the post were old pictures of health officers carrying out inspections on the outlet in 2013.
The restaurant was temporarily closed for clean-up after being directed by the health department.
