Six families evacuated as flash floods strike Kota Belud

KOTA BELUD: Six families have been evacuated to a temporary relief centre after flash floods hit six villages here.

The 19 flood victims are seeking shelter at the Tun Said community hall.

The Civil Defence Department said among the affected villages are Kampung Siasai Tamu, Kampung Bobot, Kampung Ejuk, Kampung Kota Belud,Kamping Menunggui and Kampung Gunding.

"As of 10.30am, the Kadamaian river is still at normal level but the Tempasuk and Abai rivers are at warning level.

"However, the flood water is receding and affected roads are passable to all vehicles."
