Johor Sultan all set for 800km Kembara Mahkota Johor expedition

JOHOR BARU: The Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar is all set for his four-day, 800km Kembara Mahkota Johor (KMJ) expedition, which is slated to kick off this Saturday.

In his latest Facebook posting, the Sultan featured photos of the three classic Morgan 3-Wheeler cars he and his convoy will take for the entire 808km journey across Johor’s 10 districts.

Ever mindful of his subjects’ safety, however, the Sultan cautioned onlookers to simply observe the cars from a distance and make no attempt to touch them, as the antique vehicles’ engines and exhaust pipes are entirely exposed and can become very hot.

“Please do not get too close to the cars, as the engines and exhaust pipes are exposed. (They) will be very hot and can cause serious burns if you touch (them) accidentally. So, I want to remind the people to be very careful,” he said at Istana Pasir Pelangi today.

The British-made classic cars were built to the Sultan’s exact specifications.

Sultan Ibrahim, who will be accompanied by the Royal Family, will participate in several activities throughout the KMJ route, including conducting walkabouts, holding cooking demonstrations, playing traditional sports, as well as presenting aid to the needy.

The Sultan is also scheduled to launch the new Iskandar Puteri City Council logo in Pulau Mensirip, off Mersing.
