Malaysia Airlines' Airbus A350 aircraft to sport new paint job

KUALA LUMPUR: The paint job on the very first Malaysia Airlines’ new aircraft A350 XWB has been completed by plane manufacturer Airbus SAS.

Airbus, which is European plane maker, shared the news on its official Facebook page today.

"Beautiful! The very first Malaysia Airlines #A350 XWB rolling out from the paint shop," the caption of two photos of the aircraft read.

The photos which were were posted this evening received over a thousand reactions and hundreds of shares by netizens.

Some of them welcomed the new look and some others became nostalgic about the old livery of Malaysia Airlines’ planes.

A Twitter user @Shastitaren4 said, in reply to @MAS and @Airbus, “It's so beautiful. I'm also expecting A350 landing at KUL (Kuala Lumpur) (at the) end of November.

“It will look more beautiful in Negaraku livery.”

Another Twitter user @mchorror congratulated Malaysia Airlines and said “I am proud of you guys (the airline).

The aircraft is expected to be delivered by November this year, according to Malaysia Airlines’ Facebook post.

Malaysia Airlines had reportedly signed a lease with Air Lease Corp in Sept 2015 for four A350-900s to be delivered from the final quarter of 2017 to the mid-2018.

There was a delay of a few weeks in the delivery of two Airbus A350 as the cabin alignment came in a bit late.

Airbus Commercial Aircraft president and Airbus chief operating officer Fabrice Brégier, however, had reportedly said Malaysia Airlines Bhd would receive them by year-end.

Airbus A350 is used by Vietnam Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific and Thai Airways.
