PETALING JAYA: Doctors are in the midst of stabilising the condition of popular newscaster and host, Datuk Mahadzir Lokman, 60, after being admitted to hospital yesterday.
Currently in a coma, Mahadzir was being treated for complications due to diabetes and hypertension.
His brother Danial Lokman when contacted said Mahadzir was in a coma.
"The doctors are trying to stabilise his condition. There seems to be a complication caused by his diabetes and hypertension.
"His heartbeat is weak, but it is stabalising," said Danial.
Earlier, rumours of Mahadzir's passing went viral on social media and had even sent several VIPs to the hospital to pay their last respects.
"I don't know where they got the news. People are contacting me and said they heard the 'news', but it isn't true.
"Several VIPs even came looking for him earlier. My brother is in a coma, he hasn't gone," he said.
In a quick conversation with Danial, he had requested for prayers from the public for his speedy recovery.
