KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak brought cheer to civil servants with his announcement in the 2018 Budget.
In acknowledging their roles in supporting the country's progress and implementing an efficient delivery service to the people, he said they will receive a special payment of RM1,500.
The special payment will be disbursed twice - RM1,000 at the beginning of January 2018 and RM500 before Hari Raya Aidil Fitri next year.
Government pensioners are not left out as they will also receive a special payment of RM750 ringgit, in which RM500 will be paid in January while RM250 will be given ahead of Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
