KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian government has expressed its deepest sympathies to the leadership and people of Bahrain over a terrorist attack on a police bus in Manama on Sunday.
In a statement, Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said his ministry stands in solidarity with Bahrain against the menace of terrorism, which aims to destabilise order and undermine security.
“Nothing justifies taking innocent lives. Malaysia is united with the families of the victims, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the Bahraini people.
“On behalf of the Defence Ministry, Malaysia and the Malaysian Armed Forces, I would like to convey our sincerest condolences to the leadership and people of the Kingdom of Bahrain,” the statement said.
It was reported that a Bahraini police bus was attacked by militants at Jidhafs, outside Manama, which left one policeman dead and eight others wounded.
