ISN ready to settle issue of shooters out of court

KUALA LUMPUR: The National Sports Institute (ISN) are ready to settle the case filed by three shooters, out of court.

ISN chairman Datuk Seri Abdul Azim Mohd Zabidi said the ISN had already appointed a lawyer to resolve the case which was filed in court by three shooters, to clear their names, after they were dropped from the Podium Programme and SEA Games squad for alleged poor performances and indiscipline.

“We will wait for advise from our lawyer with a view to settle the issue out of court. However, we want to hear what kind of settlement will be acceptable for the shooters,” he said during the launch of a special programme for sports science organised by ISN and National Athletes Welfare Foundation (Yakeb), here today.

The programme was launched by the Prime Minister’s wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor who is also the patron of Yakeb.

Last Monday, shooters Muslifah Zulkifli, Nur Ayuni Farhana Abdul Halim and Nur Suryani Taibi filed a case at the Kuala Lumpur High Court against the ISN.

The trio were dropped from the Podium Programme in February for allegedly failing to meet the expectations and performance.

Nur Ayuni Farhana and Muslifah were also dropped from the shooting team that competed in the KL 2017 for indiscipline. -- Bernama
