Domestic Trade Ministry to assist potential entrepreneurs

SHAH ALAM: Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry is prepared to offer expertise and assist anyone who wants to become entrepreneurs.

Its Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin said the move is aimed at increasing the number of local businesses as well as churn out more successful and responsible entrepreneurs in their respective fields.

He said the ministry is also willing to assist those who are interested in venturing into the direct selling industry in Malaysia.

"We are ready to have our officers explain to the entrepreneurs and would-be entrepreneurs on current laws that we have, such as the Direct Sales and Anti-Pyramid Scheme Act 1993.

"We are also ready to assist them to become knowledgeable, well-rounded entrepreneurs who also have excellent communication skills.

"E-commerce is a trend today but we still need to have that human factor to sell products. This is our way of supporting the local entrepreneurs," he said today.

Hamzah was met after launching the 25th anniversary of Sahajidah Hai-O Marketing Sdn Bhd at the Malawati Stadium earlier today.
