More than 45,000 STPM candidates to begin exams tomorrow

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 45,303 candidates will be sitting for the Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) 3 at 683 examination centres nationwide on Nov 6, 7, 8, 9 and 14.

From the total, 44,819 are candidates from government schools, 222 from private schools, 254 individual private candidates, and eight state government candidates.

Meanwhile, 50,011 candidates will be sitting for the STPM 2018 session 1 examination on Nov 15, 16, 20 and 21 Nov at 670 centres. Out of this number, 49,746 are government school candidates, 168 private school candidates, 80 private individual candidates, and 17 are state government candidates.

In addition, 41,078 students repeating the STPM Session 1 2017 will also be re-sitting for their papers at the same time. However, those repeating STPM Session 2 2017, numbering 40289 students, will be sitting for their exams on Nov 22, 23, 27, and 28.

The Malaysian University English Test (MUET) November 2017 writing examination successfully commenced on Nov 4 involving 48,065 candidates at 483 centres.

In case of any natural disasters such as floods, landslides or other natural calamities, students are advised to log onto the board's website to locate the nearest examination centre and present themselves to the principal invigilator there to sit for the examination.

In the event of such situations during the STPM and MUET examination, candidates can also call the STPM operations room at 03-61261668.

This operation room will operate between 7am and 5pm. Other numbers which can be contacted are 03-61261600 (general line)/03-61261650/03-61261651/03-61261653/03-61261661/03-61261662.

Meanwhile, for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination, a total of 443,883 students are expected to sit for their exams between Nov 6 and Dec 4, 2017 in 3,363 examination centres nationwide.

Of the total, 386,331 are students from government and religious government schools. Another 23,886 are individual private candidates, 14,883 students from private schools registered with the government, 8,461 from schools registered under government agencies, 8,346 from state government supported schools, and 1,976 from privately-supported religious schools.

In a statement, the Examination Board also urged all SPM candidates to keep tabs of their examination schedule regularly through their website.

Any latest updates, warnings or changes will be updated on the lp.moe.gov.my website. Both STPM and SPM candidates are also reminded to bring along their MyKads and exam slips without fail.

There are 35,341 invigilators nationwide who have been assigned to facilitate the examination process throughout the period.
