SAR team discovers body parts of suspected crocodile attack victim

LAHAD DATU: The body parts of a man who was reportedly attacked by a crocodile on Sunday were found at Sungai Ladang Sabah Mas, Phase 3, about 70 kilometres from here yesterday.

In a statement, the Sabah Fire and Rescue Operation Centre said that the body parts, believed to be those of Anuar Sabone, were found by a search and rescue (SAR) team in an operation at around 10.50am.

"The body parts were found seven kilometres from the scene of the crocodile attack. They were sent to the police for further action.

“The SAR operation, which involved firemen and the Civil Defence Force, was ended at 4.05pm by the Lahad Datu police chief,” it said.

According to a witness, Anuar was attacked by a crocodile while he fishing at Sungai Ladang Sabah Mas on Sunday. -- Bernama
