Order for Parti Warisan Sabah VP to appear at MACC Putrajaya postponed

KOTA KINABALU: The order for Parti Warisan Sabah vice-president Datuk Peter Anthony to appear at Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters in Putrajaya on Wednesday has been postponed.

Peter said the party lawyer has called him to inform on the latest development less than two hours after leaving the MACC Sabah office on Tuesday morning.

"They (MACC) said it was postponed until further notice. No reason was given," he told reporters here at the district police station.

Peter and some 29 Warisan members including vice-president Junz Wong and Wira (Youth) chief Datuk Mohd Azis Jamman were at the station to provide statements regarding eight illegal gatherings around the city recently.

Wong added that their lawyers have been negotiating with MACC to allow Peter to give statements at MACC Sabah instead of Putrajaya office on any follow ups or facilitation of investigations.

"We don't understand why he has to go there when they can do it here.

"I hope they consider this in future; he (Peter) is not fit to travel and if they insist of him coming to Putrajaya next time we will make appeal via law (to have it here instead)," stressed Junz.

Earlier today, it was reported that MACC had order Peter to appear at its headquarters in Putrajaya to facilitate an investigation which is not related to the ongoing investigation into the misappropriation of Federal funds for rural development projects in Sabah.
