Sabah Umno head, state Muda attend Warisan's AGM

KOTA KINABALU: Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin said he attended Parti Warisan's annual general meeting here today to fulfil an invitation from the party.

The Sabah Umno chief said despite the absence of any official cooperation between the state party and Warisan, the two entities could still learn from each other due to their shared interest in Sabah matters.

"I am here because I was invited by the (Warisan) president (Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal) himself. I am here to gain political knowledge from another party.

"Warisan is in the federal government, so it should be okay (to be present here). But official cooperation between us is not established yet," he told the media after the launch of the Warisan annual general meeting at Hakka Hall here.

Since the Kinabalu Move in January, Sabah Umno and Warisan have been teaming up in an attempt to topple the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah coalition-led government.

However, both Sabah Umno and Warisan have never officially said they want to work together, especially when heading towards the next polls.

Sabah Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) representatives also attended the general meeting.

State Muda deputy chairman Faezrah Rizalman said the party was open about working with Warisan to serve Sabahans.

Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM) was also invited to the general meeting but the party did not send any representative.

KDM, which is led by Melalap assemblyman Datuk Peter Anthony, supported Warisan and Umno during the Kinabalu Move to oust Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor as the chief minister.
