Foreign Ministry condemns US mass shooting; assures no M'sian affected

PUTRAJAYA: No Malaysian was affected by the mass shooting incident which took place in Northern California on Tuesday.

In a statement today, Wisma Putra said Malaysia's Consulate General in Los Angeles is working closely with authorities there to obtain the latest updates on the incident.

"Malaysians requiring further information can contact the Consulate General of Malaysia in Los Angeles at +1-213-892-1238 or email mwlosangeles@kln.gov.my," it added.

The ministry also said that the Malaysian government strongly condemns the act of violence, and extended its deepest condolences to the government and people of the United States of America, especially the families of the victims.

At least five people were killed and nearly a dozen wounded, including two children, when a gunman went on a rampage at a school and other locations in Rancho Tehama.
