PUTRAJAYA: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s press secretary, Datuk Fadzlette Othman Merican Idris Merican, was today promoted from the rank of Brigadier General to Major General.
With the promotion, Fadzlette has created a history to become the only Army female officer to be promoted to a two-star officer.
The conferment of the rank was conducted by Ahmad Zahid and Army Chief General Tan Sri Zulkiple Kassim at the Perdana Putra Building here today.
Zulkiple had earlier paid a courtesy call on Ahmad Zahid, who is also Home Minister.--BERNAMA
