KUALA LUMPUR: The National Sports Council (NSC) will introduce a programme to prepare non-Podium Programme athletes for next year’s Gold Coast Commonwealth Games and Indonesia Asian Games.
NSC director-general Datuk Ahmad Sapawi Ismail said the athletes for the programme have been determined through discussions with National Sports Associations (NSAs).
“The programme begins next month,” said Sapawi yesterday.
Shapawi also said the council will introduce a programme to prepare athletes for the 2019 and 2021 Sea Games editions in January.
“The programme will focus on young athletes with talent who are expected to compete in both Sea Games editions,” he added.
