Naked man caught on video after burgling Gombak house

KUALA LUMPUR: A man was captured on CCTV footage making his escape after breaking into a house in Lorong Dewan Simpang 3, Gombak, on Sunday morning.

The man, who was totally nude, was recorded strolling away with a handbag casually slung over his shoulder.

The matter came to light when a Facebook user by the name of Rahman related the incident in a post.

He said his mother woke him up at 5.30am after suspecting that their house had been burgled.

“She woke up for Subuh prayers and wanted to head to the neighbourhood mosque. That was when she realised that our back door had been pried open.

“When I checked around the area, I didn’t spot anyone but I did hear sounds of someone running away,” he said.

Rahman said when he inspected the footage from the house’s CCTV camera, which was trained on the house’s perimeter, he was stunned to find footage of a naked man walking away with a bag slung over his shoulder.

Rahman later lodged a police report at the Gombak Setia police station.

Gombak police chief Assistant Commissioner Ali Ahmad confirmed the case.

He said police recovered the handbag at a location near the house. Curiously, all the belongings were still intact.

“We are tracking down the man to determine whether he is mentally sound,” he said, adding that the case is being investigated for trespassing.
