500,000 Negaraku Expo visitors' target is achievable

KUALA LUMPUR: The half a million Negaraku Expo visitors' target is obtainable, despite there are only 10 days left before the expo shuts its door.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan said the expo had received more than 330,000 visitors since it started on Nov 15.

"The target is achievable because we expect more visitors to drop by the expo during the on-going Umno General Assembly at the Putra World Trade Centre and the school holiday," he told reporters during his visit to the expo with 32 Umno leaders.

Also present were Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah, Penang Federal Action Council chairman Datuk Seri Zainal Abidin Osman and Selangor Umno liaison committee deputy chairman Datuk Mat Nadzari Ahmad Dahlan.

Rahman said he was upbeat by the big turnout so far, adding the number of visitors itself showed that the expo was a success.

The expo, he added, had received a lot of international recognitions.

"Previously, a minister from Singapore has visited the expo and she was impressed by what she saw, saying that it was one of the best (expo) in the world," he said.

Later, Bashah said he was also planning to organise a similar expo in Kedah.

"Ours will be more on the developments and projects in the state," he said, adding the state-level expo is expected to be held early of next year, either in January or February.
