ALOR STAR: A 31-year-old man fell to his death while climbing a ciku tree at Kampung Seberang Padang Sanai near Kuala Nerang today.
Sham Farishah Othman was plucking the fruits when he slipped and fell off the tree about 4pm today.
His cousin, Nor Azan Ismail, 42, said the tree was located right in front of the Sham's house.
Padang Terap district police chief Superintendent Noh Idris said a medical team was despatched to the scene. Sham, however, was pronounced dead at the scene.
“We have taken his body to the Kuala Nerang Hospital for a post-mortem examination,” said Noh.
Police have classified the case as sudden death.
