KEMAMAN: Two days after all relief centres in six districts in Terengganu shut down after the flood situation improved, Kemaman had to reopen a relief centre, floods hit Kijal.
District police chief Superintendent Mohd Said Ibrahim said a relief centre in Telok Kalong, Kijal began operating since 8am.
"Ninety nine people from 23 families, all from Kampung Telok Kalong, Kijal were evacuated to the Darul Iman Training Centre (DITC) in the same village, " he said today
He said the number of evacuees were including 36 children and six toddlers .
"They are seeking shelter at the centre following their houses inundated with about 0.5 metres deep of the flood waters," he said.
