SEGAMAT: The brother of Muhammad Abu Dujanah Dzulkrinain, who died with his wife and three children in an accident near Kampung Melayu Raya here yesterday evening, found out about the tragedy through Facebook.
Abu Dujanah's brother Mohd Nizamuddin said he immediately asked his mother whether she knew the whereabouts of the family.
“She said that Abu Dujanah and his family had arrived in Segamat. I showed her the photo of the car involved in the accident and she said it looked like my brother's car.
"Feeling uneasy, I then called the Segamat police station and was informed about the accident involving my brother and his family. I then told the rest of the family and rushed to the hospital here," said Nizamuddin, 31.
Abu Dujanah was on his way home to Kluang with his family after picking his wife and youngest child up in Muadzam Shah, Pahang.
Abu Dujanah's father Dzulkrinain Yusoh, 55, said his son had gone to pick up his wife Zinnirah Abdul Hamid in Muadzam Shah where she had spent her confinement after giving birth to their youngest daughter, three month old Nur Alia Humairah.
"Before that, Abu Dujanah had taken the rest of the family for a holiday in Kuala Lumpur. They wanted to introduce their new daughter to the family back in Kluang," said Dzulkrinain when met at the Segamat Hospital's Forensic Unit.
Dzulkrinain said Abu Dujanah worked at the family restaurant in Kluang while Zinnirah owned a shop selling clothes also in Kluang.
In the 6.20pm accident, Abu Dujanah and Zinnirah, along with three of their children Nur Maghfirah, six, Muhammad Abu Ajwad, four, and Nur Alia Humairah, died after their Perodua Viva they were travelling in collided with an express bus at KM176 of Jalan Johor Baru - Seremban.
Abu Dujanah, Zinnirah and two of the children died on the spot while Nur Alia Humairah succumbed to her injuries while being treated at the hospital.
Another one of the couple's daughters, three-year-old Nur Ghaziyah Athirah, is still being treated at the hospital and is reported to be in critical condition.
The bodies of the victims are expected to be taken to the family house in Kampung Mengkibol in Kluang for final prayers before being buried at the Jalan Haji Manan Muslim Cemetery.
