MUAR: Two trailer drivers were injured in an accident at KM122 of the Plus North-South Highway (Southbound) near Pagoh, here today.
In the 2.57am accident, the driver of a 12m-long trailer, was severely injured when he was pinned to his seat due to the crash impact.
The 25-year-old driver was rushed to the hospital, while the driver of an 18m-long Scania trailer sustained minor injuries.
Fire and Rescue Department operation commander Mohd Hafiz Mohd Shahid said its six-member team was despatched to the area, and the operation was completed about an hour later after the scene was deemed safe to road users.
Meanwhile in Segamat, a 69-year-old man suffered burn injuries when his single-storey house along Jalan Kolam Air, here, was destroyed in a fire at 1.07am, today.
The senior citizen identified as Amran Abdullah had burn injuries on both of his arms.
Fire and Rescue Department operation commander Muhd Hazim Abd Razak said investigations were underway to establish the cause of the fire and the estimated damages.
He added the fire entirely destroyed the house, which took them more than two hours to extinguish.
