Parit Buntar man found dead after dog poop dispute

PARIT BUNTAR: An elderly man died following a quarrel with a neighbour over dog faeces in Taman Pekan Baru, early this morning.

Shee Hun Khong, 68, was found dead, with his dog by his side, in front of a neighbour’s house at 1.33am.

Shee was earlier believed to have been involved in an argument with a neighbour, a 52-year-old man.

The quarrell, which took place in front of the neighbour’s house, was over Shee’s dog, which had allegedly defecated in front of the house.

Shee frequently walked his dog around the neighbourhood at night.

During the argument, the neighbour allegedly slapped Shee and sprayed water on him and his dog.

Shee collapsed and was left in front of the house until he was found by another neighbour, who then alerted the authorities.

Kerian district police chief Superintendent Omar Bakhtiar Yaacob said the deceased was taken to the Parit Buntar Hospital. An autopsy showed that he died of heart failure.

“There were also small cuts on his head and knee, believed to be from his fall,” he said.

Shee reportedly had a history of heart problems and high blood pressure.

Omar said police have since arrested the neighbour who was involved in the altercation. The man has been remanded for four days to aid the murder probe.
