KUALA TERENGGANU: Two transvestites were arrested for offering sex to undercover policemen in the ‘Ops Noda’ raid at a flat in Jalan Petani here on Tuesday.
State Criminal Investigation Department chief Assistant Commissioner Fazlisyam Abdul Majid said the transvestites aged 33 and 35 were detained following observations and a tip-off from villagers who were not happy with the duo’s vice activities.
“Our men seized 11 unused condoms and six used ones from them in the house during the 11pm raid,” he told reporters at the Kuala Terengganu police contingent here today.
He said both transvestites, from Kuala Terengganu, were being remanded at the Kuala Terengganu police lock-up for further investigation for soliciting for purpose of prostitution.
It was learnt that both suspects who dressed in women’s attire offered sex to the two policemen at their place.
On another matter, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today released another 50 photo fits and details of the state’s most wanted criminals to help solve cases related to theft, causing hurt and others.
Fazlisyam said among them were a 56-year-old woman from Kampung Baru Berhala Kapas, in Lebak Temerloh, whom police sought in their investigation into a case in Marang, under Section 324 of the Penal Code, for causing hurt.
Fazlisyam said the 50 suspects, aged between 18 and 56, escaped police raids and were involved in crimes since 2006.
“Those with information about the suspects should call the nearest police station,” he said
Fazlisyam said Terengganu police had achieved more than 65 per cent success rate in solving crimes, which was among the highest in the country.
