SHAH ALAM: Tengku Aris Temenggong Selangor, Tengku Datuk Setia Muhammad Yusof Shah Alhaj, 91, grand-uncle of the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, passed away at Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital, Klang at 11.15am today.
According to a Selangor palace source, the remains of Tengku Muhammad Yusof Shah, who died of old age, would be taken to Masjid Istana Diraja, Istana Alam Shah this afternoon to be prepared for burial and prayers.
He will be laid to rest at the royal mausoleum in Klang about 5pm.
Tengku Muhammad Yusof Shah who was born on April 28, 1926, was a member of the Selangor Royal Council and the oldest member of the Selangor royal family.
He was one of 25 sons of Selangor’s fifth sultan, Sultan Sir Ala’eddin Sulaiman Shah Alhaj, who reigned from 1898 to 1938. - Bernama
