PUTRAJAYA: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today received a courtesy visit from Sudanese Home Minister Major General (Police) Dr Hamid Mohamed Mannan at his office in Perdana Putra.

Hamid’s visit was in conjunction with Putrajaya International Security Dialogue (PISD) which will be run from Friday to Saturday at Marriot Hotel here.

Both leaders spent about 45 minutes discussing various issues, including national security.

Dr Hamid is scheduled to give his country statement at PISD on Saturday.

Themed ‘Wisdom and Moderation in Countering Terrorism’, the event is organised by the Home Ministry in collaboration with Rabitah Al-Alami Al-Islami, a non-governmental organisation based in Saudi Arabia.

The objective of the event is to highlight the importance of moderation as the way to combat terrorism and extremism ideology, in line with the role played by Malaysia in adopting wasatiyyah (moderation) as the main approach in achieving peace.
